Do you want to study astrology at an advanced level? Are you looking to study astrology for self-development or to train as a professional astrologer? The Diploma Course is for those who wish to enhance their astrological knowledge. It offers the opportunity to build on your skills in interpretation and you will be introduced to forecasting and other astrological techniques. The course will also help you to explore relationships from an astrological perspective. You will be able to examine the fascinating historical background to this subject along with a further exploration of the astronomical framework on which chart interpretation is based. Those looking to become professional astrologers can benefit from the module on psychology and astroconsultancy, while those looking for a global perspective to astrology will find it in the Module 8 when it is released. There are six diploma modules. Modules 4,5 and 6 are for sale. The college aims to complete Modules 7,8 and 9 as soon as possible.

Diploma Module 4 - Forecasting and Planetary Cycles
The aim of this module is to help you use one of the major and easier methods of forecasting - transits - effectively; and to help you grasp the concepts of planetary cycles. Understanding planetary cycles is an excellent aid to making sense of forecasting techniques.

Exploring astrological symbolism in more depth.

Chart Shapes and Hemisphere Emphasis:
A look at the shapes planets can form in a chart; at a majority of planets above or below the horizon and in the eastern and western sectors.

Planetary Strength:
An exploration of planets’ strengths and weaknesses in the Zodiac signs (rulerships, detriments, exaltations and falls; final dispositors).

Transits:
How to calculate and interpret transits.

The Moon’s nodes:

Interpreting the Moon’s nodes.

The phases of the Moon:

Interpreting the eight major phases of the Moon at birth.

Retrograde planets:
Interpreting retrograde planets.

Traditional aspects:
A look at how aspects were calculated traditionally while bringing interpretations up to date.

Aspects in relation to planetary cycles:

A thorough exploration of interpreting aspects between one planet and another in relation to their phase.

Chiron and an introduction to the asteroids:
An introduction to the planetoid Chiron, when to use it and how to interpret it.
An introduction to the major asteroids - Ceres, Juno, Pallas and Vesta.

An introduction to midpoints:

This section introduces you to calculating and interpreting midpoints paying particular attention to the Sun/Moon midpoint and the Asc/MC midpoint. Midpoints will be covered in far more depth in a later module of the Diploma course.

Lessons and Exercises
There are a total of 12 exercises, 7 of which are assessed by the tutor and 5 self-assessed.

Diploma Module 5 - Forecasting and Life Cycles
This module aims to help you make use, effectively, of the most common symbolic forms of forecasting: secondary progressions, solar arc, naibod and one degree directions. It also explores planetary cycles in relation to life cycles based on age and those not specifically based on age.

A guide to calculating secondary progressions, solar arc, naibod and one degree directions
This is a comprehensive guide to calculating secondary progressions etc. (the forecasting equivalent to the Guide to Chart Calculation). It teaches you how to calculate secondary progressions, solar arc, naibod and one degree directions using a noon or midnight ephemeris.

Age related cycles
This section is about age related transit cycles, such as the Saturn Return at age 29, the Uranus half-return at age 42 and many more.

The progressed lunation cycle
The progressed Moon through the signs and houses; the progressed Moon’s phases and how to interpret major, but subtle, turning points in life.

Synthesising forecasting
A comprehensive guide on interpreting transits, progressions/solar arc/naibod/one degree directions. Which are the major progressions or directions to pay attention to - how to see the wood for the trees.

The Houses:   An in depth analysis of the 6th, 8th and 12th houses.

Making a Journal
Taking note of major life events, and drawing up charts for those times, can give you a real insight into how transits, progressions and directions have worked out in your life. This work is self-assessed and not obligatory.

Ethics - The personal reaction report

The aim of this report is to help you examine your own feelings and personal reactions to chart interpretations you have done in this module.

Lessons and Exercises
There are a total of 10 exercises of which 6 are assessed by the tutor and 4 are self assessed.

Diploma Module 6 - Synastry, The Study of Relationships
Introduction to synastry

This gives an in depth explanation of what synastry is and gives guidelines on the steps to take when looking at two charts.

Calculating the synastry grid

This shows you how to calculate the synastry grid (the aspects between two people's charts).

Synastry - how to interpret

This gives very thorough guidelines on interpreting relationships whether personal or professional ones.

Synastry cookbook

This is a guide to interpreting the inter-aspects (or cross aspects) between two people's charts.

Case study

This is a synastry report for a mother and daughter.

The midpoint composite

This shows you how to calculate and interpret a midpoint composite and explains its relationship to the synastry grid.

Forecasting in synastry

This section gives a thorough explanation of forecasting in synastry (using transits, progressions and solar arc directions) with a case study.

The phases of Venus

Venus has phases like the Moon and the phase of Venus at birth can throw light on how a person relates to others.

Calculating and interpreting the Davision relationship composite

This is a chart which represents the half way point in time and space between two births and this section tells you how to calculate and interpret this chart.

Turning the chart

This explains how to find significant people in a person's chart, such as children, partners and work colleagues.

Synastry for groups

It is possible to do synastry for groups of people, using a midpoint composite, and this section tells you how to calculate, interpret and use forcasting techniques for groups.

Relationship problems

Relationships can show up psychological problems such as abuse, addiction, projection and fear of commitment, and practical problems such as debt.  This section introduces you to these issues.

Lessons and Exercises
There are a total of 10 exercises of which 6 are assessed by the tutor and 4 are self assessed.

Prospects
While many astrologers can earn money giving astrological consultations, working on phone lines and teaching, it is seldom a major source of income. Only a minority manage to work as full time astrologers and other work or income may have to be considered alongside astrology.
